I received a recent phone call from a bride who wants to plan a honeymoon. She had been looking online and got stuck so she called me to get help. That’s not surprising as a lot of very savvy internet shoppers do get frustrated with finding exactly what they are looking for.

So what makes me qualified to design your honeymoon plans so you can really just “Imagine + Go” and have the time of your life? For starters let’s throw education through the window as you can hire someone with all the education but if they don’t have the experience or the interest in “you”, then you are still getting a discounted experience. I design honeymoons and destination weddings for one reason and one reason only. I have a passion for what I do, which is obvious in my work, my conversations with you and the interest that I take in making sure you have a good experience. I love helping others create their dream honeymoon and I enjoy adding to the beauty of the love shared between two people.

According to one groom who contacted me “My fiancé and I are getting married on May 16th 2009 in Atlanta, GA. We split up the “wedding tasks” and I thought I had the better end of the stick. I’m in charge of the DJ, transportation, preacher, bartender and honeymoon. Simple, right? Not so much. After spending days clicking on websites and falling asleep with the computer still on, I was all but fed up with the honeymoon”. Sounds familiar? Yikes! I’ve had so many clients tell me how much they’ve saved in time, money and energy working with us.

Many people believe that using our services will mean that their honeymoon will cost more than booking it themselves. We design your honeymoon without marking up prices or charging you service fees. We want you to have great service and a great price. We work with some of the oldest and best suppliers in the industry. You’ll find our pricing to be very competitive. We’re often able to price match with many of the online agencies. And we have access to promotions and specials that you can’t always find from the online giants.

Incidentally, the same groom who was falling asleep at his computer and contacted me had this to say after I designed his honeymoon.

Judith,

We made a back from our extended vacation and are finally getting into the swing of things. The honeymoon was amazing! Absolutely awesome. We had the time of our lives in Jamaica at Couples Swept Away. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect and the staff were more than accommodating. We wouldn’t improve any aspect of the entire trip….although the flight was delayed back to the states due to bad weather in Miami. All that meant was we spent more time in Jamaica so it wasn’t really a bad thing.

My experience with you was amazing. You really took care of us and made sure we were happy (even after the plans changed for the second time). Thank you so much for being available 24/7, honest and understanding. Regina and I want to take another big trip in 2010 (Europe, Australia, China or Argentina) and we will definitely call you when that happens! Thank you so much for your card as well. We have one for you so expect something in the coming weeks. Thanks for everything again.

I’ve had dozens of people who decided that they would rather do their honeymoon planning themselves with the Online Travel Agencies. However, many have reported after their trip that their experience was not what they thought all because they didn’t know about some of the hidden things. And probably the worst of all, it wasn’t even close to what they wanted. Well, that hurts my heart, and I know you deserve a much better experience than that.

Have you ever looked at one of those magazines while you are in the checkout line at your favorite store and you wonder how some people are so wonderfully gorgeous? I look at photographs at Halle Berry and I simply just can’t tear my eyes away from the page. No flaws, everything is perfect and I wish I could look like her. But is that really the true image or has that image been airbrushed and presented to look like perfection? Not to say she is not absolutely and breathtakingly beautiful but how does she really look? Well I also do the same thing when I look at some glossy magazine pictures of these amazing resorts. When were those pictures taken? Is that how the resort really looks and even if it did look like that, what is the service like? For several years I stared at that pictures of El Dorado Royale and I just always thought “what a fabulous resort. I bet it is for the rich and famous’. Well, I am not rich and famous “yet”, but I had the opportunity to spend some time at the absolutely fabulous resort and as a Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Specialist when a bride or groom says Mexico, immediately my ears tune in and I start to imagine them on the shore of the Riviera Maya, enjoying the king size day beds, lazing in their very own lazy river steps away from their room. And, those casita suites just beckon me back 20 years or so when I would be totally willing to live in one of those suites for the rest of my life and just be a professional honeymooner. Are you looking for your dream destination?

El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels caters to couples; offering the ideal settings for romance, whether a wedding, honeymoon, anniversary or impromptu romantic getaway. You’ll love the In-suite Jacuzzis, the Aguas del Amor, a private outdoor shower, the full service concierge, and the pool and beach butlers. These Gourmet Inclusive® luxury resorts are strung along the Riviera Maya’s shore line, each offering pristine stretches of white sand beachfront. Allow yourself to savor every detail of your vacation experience to the fullest. Whatever your desire, El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels can fulfill it.

With more than a mile of sandy beach in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, El Dorado Royale by Karisma offers an escape no other destination can match. All the luxuries you can dream of, combined with an emphasis on personal attention to your every whim, make this an ideal location. Discover the pleasures of the Gourmet Inclusive® experience. Relax in an elegant suite that includes 24-hour room service and a private Jacuzzi. Savor gourmet dining at seven extraordinary restaurants. Float on 13 swimming pools and indulge in spa services, including our popular couples massage classes. Then get ready to join in the exciting nightlife. It’s all here and it’s all for you in a place that doesn’t just feel like paradise, it is.

Would luxurious adults-only hotels that offer specially tailored settings and amenities especially designed for romance appeal to you? I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t.

Every romantic occasion is different. Weddings. Honeymoons. Anniversaries. Getaways. They all have their special demands to make them utterly unforgettable. From quaint beachside chapels to intimate secluded beach beds, El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels can provide you with the perfect romantic destination.

With a variety of pools and swim-up bars, and pristine stretches of white sand beaches along the azure Caribbean Sea, these are truly stunning locations. And our variety of luxurious suites to choose from, featuring king-size beds, in-suite Jacuzzis large enough for two, private outdoor showers or direct access to the lazy river meandering to the main pool, will delight every couple.

And enhancing your experience is the Gourmet Inclusive philosophy, where you have your pick of a different world-class restaurant each day. And the night brings with it your choice of entertainment as well, from a pulsating dance floor to a quiet drink under the stars as a soft guitar plays in the background.

The winding roads along the mountainside overlooking the aquamarine waters, the gently breeze that seem to caress your face and the sincere greetings from the natives on the beautiful island is not new to me. Born and raised in Jamaica, I am accusomted to the Caribbean beauty and genuine friendliness of the folks there. What I didn’t bargain for was the incomparable beauty of the Turks and Caicos, the amazing service and the friendships that are born within a few minutes of engaging in conversations with the people on the island. It is like everyone is on a vacation.

My first trip to Turks was a pleasant surprise. Hearing second hand from others, looking at glossy magazine pictures or browsing the internet and reading about the incredible vacation spot is hardly the way to truly experience this piece of paradise. The small airport is quaint and reminds me of the airports of traditionally small islands or towns. No jetway, but unless it is raining you will be pleased to feel the nice wind against your face as you walk down the steps of the aircraft and into the small but very welcoming Immigration and Customs area. A short and very pleasant ride of about 15 minutes and I was stepping out of the van into the waiting hands of someone greeting me with a cold wash cloth and an equally cool glass of tropical rum punch. The Sesame Street Parade was entertaining but as I got dressed for dinner and tried to decide which of the 16 restaurants to trust my appetite to, I was met by a very friendly staff who gave me suggestions on dining choices.

Dinner at Schnooners tantalized my taste buds with the very freshest seafood around in this nautically themed restaurant mere feet away from the beach. My outdoor dining experience on the wooden planked deck to the glow of golden candles was exhilarating and not only was the food to die for but the service was absolutely nothing short of spectacular. My experience at Beaches Turks and Caicos is etched in my memory and would take pages to write about. Mario’s proved to be another amazing dining experience both for breakfast and lunch and the exotic drinks that kept coming were undeniably refreshing.

The hub at the resort is the Italian Village where you can get lost in the charm, service, monumental architecture and warmhearted emphasis on family togetherness on a very grand scale. Want to be pampered? Then the Butler suite is your answer. This room category provides the most discerning guests with an unimaginably supreme standard of service and luxury, where every need is anticipated and catered to by your very own personal butler.

There is no better time to be “wowed” than on your honeymoon – the very first days that you spend together as husband and wife. The time is now. The time where you enjoy maximum service with minimum intrusion – where you will appreciate the exceptional levels of exclusive personal service that you will never forget but come to expect. Now is the time to discover your personal version of paradise where commonplace is gone and only extraordinary exists.

Which of your senses will you awaken first? Is it the private transfer from the airport to the resort in the luxury of a Rolls Royce or Mercedes Benz? Perhaps it is the private in suite check in. Or the preparation of the cabana by the pool or by the beach by your butler. Could it be the candle lit dinners under the stars? Maybe the hot rock massages. Or the return to your room to be swept up in the romance of the bubble bath, lighted candles, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries passionately arranged by your butler without you knowing what was happening.

According to Eric, “I can’t imagine going back to the ordinary services of the resort after this experience. It is all about the experience”. Eric is one of the guests at the Beaches Turks and Caicos that I had the privilege to talk with about his experience with the Butler service at the resort. “Dean has helped us plan our days, arrange dinner reservations, make suggestions about things we would not have thought of on our own. It is truly worth it” added Eric.

The dream starts with you. Let me help you create it. Let Sandals Resorts fulfill it.

As a Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Consultant, I often counsel my clients on planning wisely for their honeymoon – making it a honeymoon experience and not a travel itinerary. So when Amy contacted me and described her honeymoon dreams, exotic was the word used to describe the type of experience she was looking for.

When I looked up the word “exotic” online, the definition that impressed me was “having a strange or bizarre allure, beauty, or quality“. I like that definition. Being from the Caribbean, I have heard the word “exotic” very often so maybe I am a bit stuck on this adjective.

As an engaged couple who is planning a honeymoon, would an exotic honeymoon be the type of honeymoon experience you are dreaming of? Do the words allure, beauty and quality excite you? Are the images you have conjure up in your mind translate into what I describe as an exotic honeymoon? From where I sit, I would say definitely quality is always important. Isn’t it?

I know that quality was very important to Amy and Richard – a discerning couple who I worked with on their honeymoon in Bali. After all they were traveling for approximately 17 hours to go on a trip and not because they enjoy sitting on a plane for that length of time but because they were seeking the ideal honeymoon experience. So the quality of the resort, the quality of the service and the overall experience had to be worth it for them.

When they got back home they reported that their honeymoon was perfect. They had spa treatments every day and had a wonderful time. Obviously they are not alone. “I felt peaceful and serene the moment I walked up the long path to get to the dramatic main pavilion which is the resort lobby” said this writer (http://balinews.asia/2009/01/the-chedi-club-ubud/).

The Chedi Club charms discerning guests with its exquisite accommodation, signature spa, diverse cuisine, and attentive service, in a setting where serenity is sublime. Nestled in an exclusive estate surrounded by lush greenery and verdant rice fields, The Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah in Ubud, Bali offers one of the finest luxury retreats in the world. With elegantly appointed villas and suites gracefully scattered over a 5-hectare expanse of rural landscaping, privacy is of the essence.

Although I do travel for a living I have not been to the Chedi Club. Do I want to go? You bet you. How about you?
