The winding roads along the mountainside overlooking the aquamarine waters, the gently breeze that seem to caress your face and the sincere greetings from the natives on the beautiful island is not new to me. Born and raised in Jamaica, I am accusomted to the Caribbean beauty and genuine friendliness of the folks there. What I didn’t bargain for was the incomparable beauty of the Turks and Caicos, the amazing service and the friendships that are born within a few minutes of engaging in conversations with the people on the island. It is like everyone is on a vacation.
If you have not been to Turks and Caicos, it may be the next thing on your list. There is no better time to travel than now when there a literally one amazing offer after the other. Unheard of 65% savings at resorts such as Beaches Turks and Caicos. When will you save that on vacation again?
My first trip to Turks was a pleasant surprise. Hearing second hand from others, looking at glossy magazine pictures or browsing the internet and reading about the incredible vacation spot is hardly the way to truly experience this piece of paradise. The small airport is quaint and reminds me of the airports of traditionally small islands or towns. No jetway, but unless it is raining you will be pleased to feel the nice wind against your face as you walk down the steps of the aircraft and into the small but very welcoming Immigration and Customs area. A short and very pleasant ride of about 15 minutes and I was stepping out of the van into the waiting hands of someone greeting me with a cold wash cloth and an equally cool glass of tropical rum punch. The Sesame Street Parade was entertaining but as I got dressed for dinner and tried to decide which of the 16 restaurants to trust my appetite to, I was met by a very friendly staff who gave me suggestions on dining choices.
Dinner at Schnooners tantalized my taste buds with the very freshest seafood around in this nautically themed restaurant mere feet away from the beach. My outdoor dining experience on the wooden planked deck to the glow of golden candles was exhilarating and not only was the food to die for but the service was absolutely nothing short of spectacular. My experience at Beaches Turks and Caicos is etched in my memory and would take pages to
write about. Mario’s proved to be another amazing dining experience both for breakfast and lunch and the exotic drinks that kept coming were undeniably refreshing.
The hub at the resort is the Italian Village where you can get lost in the charm, service, monumental architecture and warmhearted emphasis on family togetherness on a very grand scale. Want to be pampered? Then the Butler suite is your answer. This room category provides the most discerning guests with an unimaginably supreme standard of service and luxury, where every need is anticipated and catered to by your very own personal butler.
Which of your senses will you awaken first? Is it the private transfer from the airport to the resort in the luxury of a Rolls Royce or Mercedes Benz? Perhaps it is the private in suite check in. Or the preparation of the cabana by the pool or by the beach by your butler. Could it be the candle lit dinners under the stars? Maybe the hot rock massages. Or the return to your room to be swept up in the romance of the bubble bath, lighted candles, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries passionately arranged by your butler without you knowing what was happening.
As a Honeymoon and Destination Wedding Consultant, I often counsel my clients on planning wisely for their honeymoon – making it a honeymoon experience and not a travel itinerary. So when Amy contacted me and described her honeymoon dreams, exotic was the word used to describe the type of experience she was looking for.
